Bryce Johnson Joins SDSU Musical Extravaganza

2016 Apr 27

More than 250 San Diego State University musicians performed a concert at the historic Copley Symphony Hall in Downtown San Diego. The concert - fittingly dubbed DOWNTOWN - took place on Friday, April 15, and ticket sales supported music scholarships.

Bryce Johnson, a San Diego native studying Music participated in the concert as a member of the Wind Symphony.

The audience was welcomed by the SDSU Marching Band. Throughout the evening, the musicians and choirs performed works by Richard Wagner, Vaughan Williams, Leonard Bernstei and Brent Dutton. The performance culminated with a rendition of "Ode to Joy," the final movement of Ludwig van Beethoven's Ninth Symphony.

The students performed a sold-out concert and raised $40,000 in scholarship funds.
